Fujian Jiangyin Economic Development Zone (FJEDZ), one of the largest comprehensive economic development zones in Fujian Province, is located in the southern coast of Fuqing city - the hometown for numerous overseas Chinese. Through nine years’ development and construction, the strong and unique advantages of FJEDZ have laid a great foundation for its future, and have been attracting massive attentions from various circles of society, domestically and internationally. Nowadays, FJEDZ has become the core of the grand blueprints of the capital area, and even the province.

FJEDZ has the best natural deepwater port in Fujian province – Jiangyin port, which is located in the northern bank of the largest bay – Xinghua Bay. Jiangyin port has the strong attractive geographical advantages, for its core location both in Fujian southeast prosperous economic zone, and between Shanghai port and Shenzhen Yantian port. Domestically, circle with center point Jiangyin port, up to the north, Shanghai, Dalian, and Tianjin; down to the south, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, are all within a radius of 800 nm, which means Jiangyin port can reach the radiation of rapid economic growth from the two biggest Chinese well-established economic zones, Yangtze River and Pearl River Deltas. More attractively, Jiangyin port is one of the closest deepwater ports between China Mainland and Taiwan, only 100 nm far from Taichung. Globally, Jiangyin port is in the crossing of the Chinese coastline and the economy area of Annulus Pacific Ocean, and is 24 nm from the main international container ship channel.

According to the overall plan approved by the People's Government of Fuzhou City in April of 2005, the planning area of FJEDZ is 158.6km2 (including Jiangyin Area, Xincuo Area and Yuxi Area). Of them, the first stage develop area is 67.51km2, which consists of five main parks - western industry park of 10.7km2, eastern industry park of 12.68 km2, port area of 9.02 km2, storage and logistics park of 6.4 km2, and living area of 17.81 km2. The industry layout is: the coastal power energy, metallurgical machinery in eastern industry park, new chemical materials in western industry park, as well as modern storage and logistics industry in the rear of port area.

FJEDZ attracts a large number of projects due to its unique development advantages and the superior investment environment. By now, FJEDZ has signed over 90 projects, the total investment is over RMB 80 billion. Primarily, these enterprises have formed the developing pattern of five industries--port transportation, modern logistics, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, power energy industry and recycling economic industry.
