Fuzhou new port--Jiangyin Port lies in northwest bank of the biggest gulf of Fujian province—Xinghua gulf, and it’s only 24 sea miles away from the international main navigation route.
The overall plan area is 9.02 k㎡ and the coastline is 8.37 km. It is going to build more than 30 berths of 3-30 ten-thousand-ton level; there are 13 container berths, 4 chemical liquid berths and more than 10 big grocery berths. And JiangyinPort will expand to Niutouwei (Wan’an) which will build about one hundred berths step by step, then form a linked deep harbor group. JiangyinPort channel width is 9-15km, while the top depth reaches 19m. With two sea-routes named Nanri and Xinghua, whose channel depth are 15.5-17.2m, and the width is 360m, it’s available for the transition, anchoring and turning around of large ships of 20 ten-thousand-ton level and above. Meanwhile, being neither frozen nor silt, natural good shelter from wind, and not limited by the sea-route or tide for the whole year, Jiangyin Port was recognized as the natural golden port “unwonted in China, Best in Fujian”.

JiangyinPort was officially open to the foreign countries in March, 2003. Having started business since then, Fuzhou International Container Terminal (FICT) has successively enlarged its business from 10,000 TEU in 2003 to 200,000 TEU in 2006. Now, there are West USA, Europe& Mediterranean Sea, West Africa, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Middle East and national routes connecting JiangyinPort. Its customers including those leading shipping companies such as CMA-CGM, EMC, CSD, WanHai, COSCO, KMTC, YangMing, MSL, etc. The 1-3# container berths of 50,000 tons and China GuoDian coal berth have being put in use, 4-5# container berths of 50,000 tons will begin to use one after the other in 2007 and 2008. At the same time, more than 10 berths are in construction, including chemical berths, big grocery berths and 100,000-ton-level container berths.
